Following last week’s meet scheduling changes, the International Falls boys and girls track and field teams headed to Baudette on Friday to compete in the six-team AAA Booster Invite.
In the boys competition, the Broncos came in fourth.
Roseau placed first with 175 points, followed by Warroad (110), West Marshall (87), the Falls (82), BGMR Freeze (56) and Lake of the Woods/Rainy River (40).
Broncos senior Tyler House scored 18 team points in four individual events, placing second in the 200-meter dash (24.94 seconds), third in the 100 (11.87) and fifth in both the long jump (17 feet, 7.75 inches) and triple jump (37-4).
Falls junior Nick Janttie added 10 points by coming in second in the shot put (41-8) and fifth in the 100 (12.25).
Other third-place finishes for the Falls included Cody Hallin in the 200 (25.44) and Riley Hogan in the 400 (57.14).
The Broncos’ Logan Veillieux and Corin Wenger went 4-5 in the 3200 run in 12:01.4 and 12:17.9, respectively.
Falls’ other fourth-place finishes came from Gary Harala in the 110 hurdles (17.99) and Jakob Ettestad in the pole vault (10-0).
Broncos junior Jason Pumper placed fifth in both the 200 dash (26.25) and high jump (5-4).
Other fifth-place finishes for the Falls came from Jake Piekarski in the 400 dash (58.64) and Jared LaVigne in the shot put (36-7.5). Austin Ruport placed sixth in the discus (100-0).
In the four relay events, the Broncos came in third in both the 4X100 (48.69) and 4X200 (1:43.19), fourth in the 4X800 (9:57.8) and fifth in the 4X400 (4:15).
Falls girls fifth
In the girls competition, less than 14 points separated the first and fifth place when the Broncos ended up in fifth.
Roseau finished first with 111.2 points, followed by Warroad (108.2), West Marshall (107.5) BGMR Freeze (100), the Falls (98) and Lake of the Woods/Rainy River (20).
The Broncos’ only individual first-place finish came from freshman Savanah Olson in the shot put (34-11). Olson also finished fourth in the discus (84-7.5).
A trio of Falls sophomores recorded a runner-up finish and also scored points in another individual event.
Hailey Fentem placed second in the 100 hurdles (17.58) and tied for third in the high jump (4-8).
Jaci Scholler finished second in the triple jump (30-3.5) and fourth in the 100 dash (13.84).
Breanna Shofner came in second in the 200 dash (27.81) and fifth in the long jump (13-4.75).
Other fourth-place finishes for the Falls came from Abby Kostiuk in the 400 (1:08.8), Amber Harms in the 1600 (6:01.3) and Lexi Erickson in the 3200 (12:48.9).
Two other fifth-place finishes for the Broncos came from Valandre Butler in the 100 dash (14.01) and Maddie Filipiak in the 300 hurdles (54.43).
Michele McDonald recorded a pair of sixth-place finishes for the Broncos in the shot put (27-4) and discus (79-8), while Ashley Hasbargen tied for sixth in the high jump (4-4) and Claire Herzig and Therese Youso were part of a four-way tie for sixth in the pole vault (6-0).
Falls won the 4X400 relay.
