Littlefork-Big Falls’ football team found Friday’s road game rough against one of the top-rated nine-man teams in Minnesota.

The Vikings trailed by 52 points at halftime before losing to North Woods, 66-14.

The loss dropped L-BF’s season record to 0-3 overall and in the Big North Conference. The Grizzlies have won all three of their games this season.

Vikings head coach John Larson said North Woods’ defense dominated the game, forcing L-BF to commit 4-5 fumbles.

“We need to work on ball security a little bit more,” he said.

Larson said the Vikings played better in the second half when they scored both of their touchdowns.

Chase Ballard got L-BF on the scoreboard with a 3-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

The Vikings scored their final touchdown in the fourth quarter when Rylan Henrickson threw a 10-yard pass to Chandan Street. Bryce Burmeister then ran in the 2-point conversion.

Burmeister and Ballard each ran for 61 yards on 14 carries apiece.

L-BF will face another undefeated team this Friday when the Vikings host Mountain Iron-Buhl.
