Despite tallying 6 hits, International Falls’ baseball team wasn’t able to score a run Thursday when the Broncos  lost for the first time this season and were shut out at Warroad, 4-0.

Caleb Dahlin and Jackson Vollom both had a pair of singles, while Kevin Kilbride tripled and Christian Kittelson singled for the Falls.

Zach Johnston, Ross Merriman, Alan Peterson and Brandon Newhouse each had a hit for Warroad.

Kittelson pitched the first four innings for the Broncos and recorded the loss, allowing 3 runs, two earned, on 4 hits with 6 walks while striking out three. Josh Potter pitched the final two innings in relief, giving up an unearned run with no hits and a walk while striking out two.

Tyler Hansen pitched all seven innings for the Warriors as he gave up 2 walks along with the 6 hits while striking out three to record the shutout victory.

The 2-1 Broncos return to action today at Scheela Field when they host Ely at 4 p.m.
