Two head coaches from International Falls have been named the “Coach of the Year” in Section 7A.
The Broncos’ cross country coach, Paul Hjelle, was the named the Section’s girls cross country head coach of the year.
In 2012, Falls’ girls team qualified for the Class A state cross country meet for the second year in a row.
The Broncos’ Jill Herzig has been named the Section’s head coach of the year for girls swimming.
After having to deal with issues with the FHS pool, in which Falls’ girls team was able to only host one meet this season, the Broncos ended the year placing fourth as a team at the Section 7A meet.
Two Bronco girls swimmers have been named to this year’s All-Section Team. Junior Breanna Shofner was recognized for her Section split time in the 200-yard freestyle relay, while freshman Abby Kostiuk was recognized for her split time swimming the backstroke in the 200 medley relay.
