For the second week in a row, College of St. Scholastica senior infielder Jake Casareto of International Falls has once again been named the Saints' "Male Performer of the Week."
In eight games last week, Casareto batted .500 (16-32), drove in 16 runs and scored 11 times. He hit three doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs.
Casareto was also 4-4 in stolen bases and pitched two hitless innings of relief vs. North Central.
Going into the UMAC Tournament that begins Friday at Wade Stadium in Duluth, Casareto has a .389 season batting average and started 32 games for the Saints in 2013.
