Jared Hunter competing at NAIG

Jared Hunter (212), shown competing last month at the North American Indigenous Games, earned two medals as part of Team Ontario. Hunter will be a sophomore this fall at International Falls High School.

Jared Hunter, who will be a sophomore this fall at International Falls High School, earned two medals competing for Team Ontario in the boys 16U division at the North American Indigenous Games held July 20-27 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Hunter, who is also in the Rainy River First Nations, was part of the 4X400-meter relay team that won a gold medal with the top time of 3 minutes, 52.63 seconds. He earned a bronze medal in the triple jump by placing third with a distance of 10.65 meters.

In three other events Hunter competed in, he recorded sixth-place finishes in the 2000-meter run (7:33.02) and 3-kilometer cross country run (10:59.10) and came in seventh in the 1200-meter run (4.20.17).
