Before Sunday’s big game between Canada and the U.S., 10 hockey legends gathered at Thunderbird Lodge
Hockey legends were out Sunday at Thunderbird Lodge.
Ten of the countries all-time greatest hockey legends visited Thunderbird Lodge, signing autographs and providing fans with plenty of photo opportunities.
Even a gold medal from the 1980 Miracle on Ice team was present, courtesy Buzzy Schneider.
Joining Schneider was Keith “Huffer” Christianson, Henry Boucha, Mike “Lefty” Curran, Dick Dougherty, Willard Ikola, Dan McKinnon, Jack McCarton and Roger and Gordy Christian.
A gold medal from the 1960 U.S. team was also present, along with numerous Olympic apparel and memorabilia. There was a silent auction, food and drink specials, activities for kids, raffles and prizes. The U.S. Hockey Mobile Hall of Fame was on display and original footage of past Olympic gold medal games from the 1960s and 1980s was available to watch.
All proceeds from the first ever event of its kind in Minnesota benefited the International Falls Rec Hockey program.
