Attempt at ‘Longest ATV Parade’ planned for Silver Bay June 23
The All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota will on June 23 attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the World’s Longest ATV Parade.
In June of 2009 the association broke the world record for the “Longest ATV Parade” with 1,632 ATVs. In the fall of 2010, Utah broke the record with 1,870 ATVs.
ATVAM encourages all ATV enthusiasts to join them in Silver Bay for a weekend of fun riding, and other ATV related activities. Organizers are aiming to have more than 2,000 ATVs participate in the parade.
People who register prior to May 8 will receive a free limited edition “World’s Longest ATV Parade” memorabilia T-shirt. To register, visit www.atvparade.org or call ATVAM at 800-442-8826.
Parade organizers will also hold a contest for the most creatively decorated ATV. After the parade concludes, Zups will host a buffet at the Silver Bay Union Hall.
Registration and the staging area for the parade will be located one-half mile north of Outer Drive and Highway 61 North in the field in front of AmericInn Motel. Signs will direct participants. Ample parking on the streets and surrounding areas will be available.
The parade route will be a designated ATV trail for the day, so children can ride in the parade as long they meet all Minnesota safety requirements. Side-by-side ATVs and three-wheelers are welcome to come, but are not going to be counted by Guinness World Records toward the record breaking attempt. Sponsors of the ATV Parade will host booths on-site for participants to see new products.
Participants are asked to bring a canned food item to donate to the Silver Bay food bank; items will be collected at the parade site.
