International Falls’ Junior League baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Grand Rapids on Tuesday at Scheela Field.
In game one, Falls fell to Rapids, 23-8, in five innings.
Walker Ulrich started on the mound for the Falls and pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing 15 runs on seven hits with 10 walks while striking out a batter.
Walker Wegner pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits with a walk.
Chase Bernard and Riley Nemec had two hits for the Falls.

In the second game also going five innings, the Falls overcame a three-run deficit in the opening inning by scoring six times in the bottom of the frame, but ended up losing, 17-13.
Falls recorded three hits with five other batters walking on base before making an out in the first inning when 11 batters went to the plate.
After giving up a run in the top of the second, Falls scored three more times in the bottom of the inning to lead, 9-4.
Rapids then outscored the Falls in the final three innings, 13-4, to sweep the doubleheader.
Bernard pitched the first two innings for the Falls, allowing four runs on two hits with six walks and a strikeout.
Nemec threw in relief and was the pitcher of record for an inning, while Remington Veillieux pitched in the final two innings.
At the plate, Darian Erickson led the Falls with three hits. Lane Skallman, who tripled, along with Brenden Williams and Jordan Tilander, each added two hits.
Falls’ regular season finale is scheduled for Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Hibbing set to start at 4 p.m
