Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship is gearing up for the July event.
Tournament organizers say they are at work in an attempt to create a great week of fishing for the competitors and a great lineup of entertainment for everyone. The championship is planned for July 26-28.
“The entire board is working extremely hard right now to ensure a great season,” said Gord Watson, board chairman. “We’re looking to make this tournament as affordable and fun for everyone as we can. We hope to see everyone out there. We couldn’t do this tournament without the support or our sponsors and the community.”
The event will again feature regular favorites including Quest for the Best and the teen dance. Quest for the Best showcases the vocal talent of the community and the teen dance offers door prizes, music and dancing for the area’s youth. Joining the lineup will be Damian the Hypnotist as well as many local bands.
Anglers can become involved in more ways this year. The Kid Pro tournament and the Parade of Boats take place before the tournament begins.
