Former Bemidji State University men’s hockey forward Drew Fisher of International Falls has signed a professional contract with the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League.

The move reunited him with former BSU teammate and fellow Falls native Ryan Cramer, who played for the Beavers from 2007-11.

Fisher made his professional debut March 17 in an Oilers’ road loss to the Missouri Mavericks. In just his second game with the Oilers on March 18, Fisher posted an assist on Cramer’s game-winning goal as Tulsa defeated Missouri, 5-4.

Fisher scored his first professional goal Sunday in Tulsa’s regular season finale, a 6-5 overtime loss at home to Missouri. The Oilers did not make the playoffs.

One of nine players to play in each of the Beavers’ 38 games during 2011-12, Fisher totaled 4 points (3 goals and 1 assist).

He finished his BSU career with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 75 games after transferring from University of Minnesota following his sophomore season.

While at BSU, Fisher, a Western Collegiate Hockey Association veteran, helped lead the Beavers into a new era as a member of the first BSU team to make its league home the WCHA and the first to call Sanford Center home.

Fisher is also a two-time Academic All-WCHA selection and a two-time WCHA Scholar Athlete honoree.

BSU, which finished 17-18-3 overall and posted an 11-14-3 mark in WCHA play to finish ninth in the league, lost in the opening round of the WCHA playoffs to the University of North Dakota.
