Chuck Lambert

Chuck Lambert celebrates his third win of the year last Saturday and takes the top spot for most feature wins in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds.

The beautiful weather just kept coming at the Emo Speedway as Amsoil Dirt Track Series action took place once again at the track last Saturday.

A great crowd was on hand once again as the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Modifieds, and Street Stocks started the night off with their heat races.

For the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Chuck Lambert went from the back of the pack in ninth position to win it.

In the Street Stocks, Jeff Wickstrom of International Falls claimed the checkered flag.

In the WISSOTA Modifieds, 11 cars were split into two heats. The first heat had Gavin Paull claim his third heat win of the year, while Steve Nordin and Dustin Wahl rounded out the top three. Heat two saw Aaron Holton start on the pole and fly away from the field for his win, while Gary Wilson and Glen Strachan finished the top three.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature had Ken Perry and Anthony Visser on the front row.

Perry took the early lead, but Lambert was coming through from fourth spot and after a few laps over took the lead. He pulled away from much of the field, but a caution about halfway brought the field back together. Christopher Leek had now moved into third position.

On the restart, Leek passed Perry for second spot. Another late caution flew, allowing the potential for a great finish. But even after few side by side battles, Lambert was victorious for the third time this season.

In the Street Stocks, Chris Shine started on the pole, but Wickstrom took the lead after a caution and looked like he was going to win it. However, engine troubles seemed to plague the car and Wickstrom was forced to exit early. Shine reclaimed the lead and kept it for his first win of 2012.

In the WISSOTA Modifieds, Dwayne Pelepetz and Gary Wilson started on the front row. Pelepetz took the early lead and still had it after a couple cautions. But Paull was making his way up from eighth position. A good battle ensued with Pelepetz, and Paull took the lead.

After another restart, Glen Strachan had moved into second spot and had his eyes set on the leader. It was a good race as Strachan was faster in three/four corner, while Paull pulled away on the other corners. Even after a Green, white, checkered, Paull still came out with his seventh win in nine races at the Emo Speedway.

Tonight is the annual Bicycle Giveaway sponsored by Harold McQuaker Enterprises. Also, Bolsa Engines and Performance will be hosting a Dash for Cash for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds this evening. Hot laps start at 7 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
