ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A bill to raise fishing and hunting license fees and set a wolf hunting season now awaits approval from Gov. Mark Dayton.
The bill passed the House 68-62 on Saturday night. The Senate approved it a few hours later 34-28.
The Star Tribune reports the governor is expected to sign it.
The bill raises a wide range of license fees to maintain funding for fisheries and wildlife resource management programs. Adult resident fishing fees would rise from $17 to $22 a season. The increases would take effect March 1, 2013.
The state's first wolf hunting season would open on the same date as the firearms deer season.
A proposal to open the fishing season a week early this year was dropped from the final version of the bill.
