Lake of the Woods Area Tourism will offer WalleyeFest 2012 in connection with the AIM Pro Walleye Series Aug. 16, 17 and 1
One of the activities surrounding WalleyeFest 2012 is an essay contest for students, who are encouraged to create a poster or write an essay answering the question listed for their age group.
Each student is allowed one entry. There will be two winners per age group per community. The winners will be given the opportunity to ride in the WalleyeFest 2012 boat parade with a AIM Pro Walleye Pro Angler on at 4 p.m. Aug. 17 in Baudette. Entries must be submitted by June 15. Entries may be submitted via e-mail to info@lakeofthewoodsmn.com or to Lake of the Woods Area Tourism Bureau, PO Box 518, Baudette, MN 56623.
Poster or essay topics:
• K -2nd grade: Create a poster about walleye fishing.
• 3rd – 5th grade: An essay (up to 300 words) answering “What is your favorite walleye fishing memory?”
• 6th-8th grade: An essay (up to 300 words) answering “What has been your best walleye fishing experience?”
• 9th – 12th grade: An essay (up to 500 words) answering “How has walleye fishing positively impacted your life?”
