Wild Road Tour to be in the Falls Monday
The Minnesota Wild’s 2012 Road Tour is coming to International Falls on Monday.
Four Wild celebrities — defenseman Justin Falk, center Chad Rau, former player Wes Walz and studio host Kevin Falness — are slated to make a stop at Smokey Bear Park from 10-11 a.m.
Each tour stop the Wild will be making includes a fund-raising opportunity for local youth hockey associations, as well as autographs from Wild celebrities.
The Road Tour, which will be taking place with three legs throughout Minnesota, concludes Thursday with the seventh annual Wild Summer Bash at the Guidant John Rose MN OVAL in Roseville from 6-9 p.m.
Bronco 5K Run/Walk to take place July 4
The sixth annual Bronco 5K Run/Walk will be held July 4 starting at 9 a.m. at the Falls High School track.
The race, which will have the same route as last year, starts at the entrance to the track, before going along 11th Street to Kerry Park and looping back to Falls High School, ending with a lap on the track.
Preregistered entrants will be able to pick up their bib numbers and T-shirts at the track July 3 between 6-7 p.m.
The entry fee following the June 20 preregistration deadline is $20 without a T-shirt. Race day registration begins at 8:15 a.m. A limited number of T-shirts will be available on race day.
Medals will be awarded in the Bronco 5K to the top-three males and females in nine age categories.
Following the Run/Walk, a free Kids Fun Run will be held on the track with a choice of a 400-meter or 800-meter run at approximately 10 a.m.
All participants in the Kids Fun Run will receive a ribbon.
Proceeds from the Bronco 5K Run/Walk benefit the Bronco track and field teams.
