Bronco boys hockey coaches get rehired
The Bronco boys hockey team will have the same coaches for the 2012-13 season after the International Falls Board of Education decided Monday to rehire the head coach and two assistants for the second season in a row.
Bruce Elson is returning as the head coach and Ross Johnson and Tom Biondich will be back as assistants after having led the Falls to a 15-12 overall record in 2011-12. All three had joined the Bronco boys coaching staff last season.
Johnson’s rehiring had previously been mired in controversy over his appearance in a YouTube video that featured Johnson partying and drinking alcohol with others. Petitions from students and community members urged the board to rehire Johnson.
