Ice out on Rainy Lake had not occurred as of Wednesday.

Voyageurs National Park Ranger Pilot Steve Mazur reported to officials that on Tuesday, he conducted a high level look at area lakes.

Ice out on Rainy Lake is determined when a boat can travel unimpeded by ice from Island View to Kettle Falls.

The following is the ice report on Rainy Lake as of Tuesday:

• International Falls border crossing to City Beach — clear.

• City Beach to Black Bay Narrows — 75 percent covered by ice.

• Black Bay Narrows to Brule Narrows — 75 percent covered by ice.

• Brule Narrows to Kettle Falls — 40 percent covered by ice.

Park officials determined that the ice went out on Kabetogama Lake Sunday.

Mazur reports Tuesday that Sand Point and Crane Lake are clear of ice.
