The NAIA Men’s Golf National Championships ended in the third round last week for 2011 International Falls High School graduate Jeff Shermoen and his college team, Bellevue University.

The Bruins — who qualified for the national tournament held this year at the Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Ore., after winning last month’s Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament — missed the cut to the final round for the top-17 teams by being in 23rd place after day three.

BU shot its best team total of the tournament on day three, finishing with a team score of 303, for a three-day total of 940.

Shermoen shot the Bruins’ second-best round of the day with a 75 and tied for 91st place at 234 after day three. He collected three birdies on the day.
