Grady Anderson

Grady Anderson of Grand Rapids is shown finishing first overall in the 2011 Bronco 5K Run/Walk.

People who haven’t signed up for Wednesday’s Bronco 5K Run/Walk will be able to do so in person the evening before and morning of the race, said Falls High School girls track and field coach Jen Erickson, who is organizing this year’s event.

She said 147 people have preregistered for the sixth annual Bronco 5K, which begins Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the FHS track.

The race, which will have the same route as last year, starts at the entrance to the track, before going along 11th Street to Kerry Park and looping back to Falls High School, ending with a lap on the track.

Preregistered entrants will be able to pick up their bib numbers and T-shirts at the track Tuesday between 6-7 p.m. Those not yet registered may also sign up at that time.

Race-day registration begins at 8:15 a.m. The entry fee on the day of the race will be $20 without a T-shirt. A limited number of T-shirts will be available on race day.

Medals will be awarded in the Bronco 5K to the top-three males and females in nine age categories.

Following the Run/Walk, a free Kids Fun Run will be held on the track with a choice of a 400-meter or 800-meter run at approximately 10 a.m.

All participants in the Kids Fun Run will receive a ribbon.

Proceeds from the Bronco 5K benefit the FHS track and field teams.
