Beavers make their mark on the landscape. Much like humans, beavers alter the environment drastically to suit their needs. Their dams, canals, and tree cutting activities change the land in many ways. Prized for their fur, beavers were also responsible for much of the European expansion into North America.
Voyageurs National Park biologist Bill Severud will offer information about how beavers influence people’s lives and the park from 2-3 p.m. March 25 at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center.
The program will also offer information about the beaver research park biologists have been conducting over the last five years.
This program is sponsored by Voyageurs National Park Association. No fee or registration is required to attend.
