Just under a week remains to preregister for the 8th annual Bronco 5K Run/Walk that will start this year at 8 a.m. July 4 at the Falls High School track.
Bronco 5K race organizer Jen Erickson said this year’s starting time for the annual Independence Day race is being moved up an hour earlier because of the heat and warm temperatures the event has experienced the past few years.
If preregistered by June 20, the 5K Run/Walk is $20 with a T-shirt and $12 without a T-shirt. The entry fee for ages 10 and under will be $15 by the preregistration deadline.
The race starts at the entrance to the track, before going along 11th Street to Kerry Park and looping back to Falls High School, ending with a lap on the track.
Preregistered entrants will be able to pick up their bib numbers and T-shirts at the track July 3 between 6-7 p.m. Those not yet registered will be able to sign up at that time.
Race-day registration begins at 7:15 a.m. The entry fee on the day of the race will be $20 without a T-shirt.
Medals will be awarded to the top-three males and females in nine age categories.
Following the Bronco 5K at approximately 9 a.m., a free Kids Fun Run will be held on the track with the choice of a 400- or 800-meter run. All participants in the Kids Fun Run will receive a ribbon.
Registration forms are available at the Falls High School Community Education office, the FHS main office or Snap Fitness. The forms can also be obtained online at www.northlandrunner.com or www.isd361.k12.mn.us.
To preregister, mail registrations to Jen Erickson, 344 County Road 24, International Falls, MN 56649, or drop them off at the FHS main office. Checks should be made payable to Bronco Track Boosters. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Proceeds from the Bronco 5K benefit the FHS track and field teams.
