The Rainy River Community College baseball team has begun practicing this month at Scheela Field behind Falls High School for its annual "fall ball" in preparation for the 2014 season.
RRCC head coach Josh Koenig said 15 players, seven of whom are returning from last season, are now practicing with the team. He also noted additional players may be added to the roster for next season once they would sign up for classes in the spring semester.
Koenig said the team is now allowed to play scrimmages as part of the annual fall ball, which will include a scrimmage at Vermilion on Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m., a home scrimmage against the Brandon Cardinals from Canada on Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. and the RRCC Alumni scrimmage games on Sept. 28 at 1 p.m.
