The spring rally of the Bemidji-Park Rapids Zone of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is scheduled for April 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji, with the Evening Guild as hostess. The theme of the rally is “Water of Life.”

The day begins with registration and morning coffee at 9 a.m. with the rally beginning at 9:30. Opening devotions will be led by Pastor Matthew Wurm of Trinity. Vicar Dallas Dubke of Trinity will lead the Bible Study.

The featured afternoon speaker will be Lil Spilde, a member of Trinity Lutheran. She recently returned from a trip to Haiti and will speak of her experiences. Spilde first heard of the needs in Haiti in 2003 when Pastor Eliona Bernard of Cap Haitien spoke at International Falls. She is a member and past treasurer of the Lutheran Mission Association. This association has been instrumental in establishing a church, school, clinic and sewing center at Cap Haitien and also a church at St. Raphael. The have purchased land for four outlying churches and have sent three shipping containers of goods and many books. Spilde has made nine trips to Haiti since 2003 and her most recent one has been since the earthquake.

President Mary Olson will preside at the business meeting, which will include electing a president and treasurer.
