"The Old Fogies" easily overtake their competition and enjoy a combination of congratulations and ribbing from friends, townsfolk and competitors in International Falls Icebox Days SMOOSH Race Saturday off Third Street. The object of the race is to run about 100 yards total back and forth while their shoes are nailed to a 2x4, making it necessary for them to step in complete unison. Fast. The team includes Mike Gansch (front), Dan Vohler, Jamie Skrien and Mike Harder. This is the second year for the Fogies, and Gansch said they practiced at least once. While the cold may have kept some of the teams away, the race sponsor, The Viking, was packed.
