Lois Lewis and Bobby Whitfield

Lois Lewis presents Bobby Whitfield with his certificate.

Bobby J. Whitfield, a junior at Indus High School, has become the first credentialed ProStart graduate in the restaurant management and culinary arts program at the school.

In order to receive this certification from the National Restaurant Association, Whitfield completed two years of ProStart training at Indus School, passing both national certification exams.

He also completed 400 hours of work in the foodservice industry learning skills defined as critical by industry leaders such as food and workplace sanitation and safety, marketing and management, and food preparation and service.

This credential celebrates the accomplishments of Whitfield in completing a rigorous training program and demonstrates his commitment to a career in the industry.

Whitfield was also a participant in the first-time ever ProStart Cooking Invitational team at Indus last year.

Lois Lewis, Family & Consumer Sciences teacher at Indus School and instructor for the ProStart classes, comments, “I am pleased and proud to honor Bobby Whitfield with this credential and applaud his commitment to completing the requirements for the Certificate of Achievement.”
