Popular songs from all eras were brought to life at the International Falls Figure Skating Club's 38th annual ice show "One Hit Wonders."

From the wobbly skaters in the snowplow sam level to the experienced senior group, the club performed to single success songs like "Achy Breaky Heart," "Come On Eileen" and "Video Killed the Radio Star."

"I am so proud of each and every one of our skaters," said Erin Rousseau, the president of the club's board. "They have such dedication and determination and their hard work showed at the ice show."

Rousseau said the success of the show is a result of months of dedication and hard work from the skaters, coaches, parents, board members and sponsors.

Coach Darlyss Krienke told The Journal how proud she was of the skaters from all levels.

"They make you tear up as a coach," she said. "From the new skaters to the graduating seniors my heart is overflowing with pride, I can only imagine how proud parents and grandparents are."

Perhaps some of the proudest parents were those of graduating seniors Kathryn Imbleau and Jaime Sjoblom. The two girls, who have been involved in skating since they could walk skated in their final IFFSC ice show Sunday afternoon.

"This year's ice show was probably one of my top favorites," Sjoblom said. "All the costumes, routines and the groups that were all put together were perfect. Everyone worked so hard on it this year it was amazing."

Sjoblom said it she felt lost Monday after her high school skating career ended with the close of Sunday's show.

" I actually came home today and didn't know what to do with myself," she said.

Imbleau did not return a message left by The Journal in time for this story.
