The International Falls girls basketball team overcame a 26-21 deficit Thursday night by closing out the first half with 13 unanswered points on the way to a 59-48 road victory over Eveleth-Gilbert.

The Broncos, who improved to 9-5 overall after ending a two-game losing streak, had also won a home game last month against the Golden Bears.

Reva Renollet led the Falls with 16 points, followed by Jenna Vergeldt with 14 and Sophie Fredrickson with 10. Vergeldt also hauled in 10 rebounds to record a “double-double.”

Megan Vidas scored a game-high 19 points for the Golden Bears. Katelyn Rice was the only other E-G players to score in double figures with 10 points.

The Broncos return to action today at Two Harbors.
