International Falls’ girls basketball team is off to a 5-0 start this season after picking up two more victories.
On Friday, the Broncos rallied in the second half to overcome a three-point halftime deficit and win at home against Eveleth-Gilbert, 58-44.
Falls junior center Jenna Vergeldt recorded another “double double” with a game-high 17 points and 15 rebounds. Reva Renollet added 11 points for the Broncos.
Two Eveleth-Gilbert players, Megan Vidas and Megan Preiner, accounted for the majority of the Golden Bears’ points with 14 and 12, respectively.
On Monday, the Broncos led by 21 at halftime on the way to winning at Chisholm, 70-47.
Vergeldt and senior guard Hanna Heibel each scored 16 points to lead the Broncos, while Renollet added 12.
The Bluestreaks’ senior center, Brianna Zunich, led all scorers with 21 points and also hauled in 11 rebounds.
