International Falls’ girls swimming and diving team placed fourth out of 10 teams at Saturday’s Taconite Invitational hosted by Mesabi East.
Duluth East finished first with 360, followed by Superior (200), Mesabi East (171) and the Falls (140) in the top four.
Sophomore Breanna Shofner recorded the top individual finish for the Broncos by placing second in the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 18.31 seconds. Senior teammate Ashley Hasbargen was fifth in 1:19.68.
Shofner was also part of the runner-up 200 freestyle relay when she joined seniors Rachel Adams and Morgan Bruess and sophomore Blair Johnson to finish in 1:51.5.
Shofner, Adams, Bruess and Hasbargen placed fourth in the 200 medley relay in 2:06.69.
Shofner and Adams placed fourth and sixth in the 50 freestyle in 27.38 and 27.92, respectively.
Bruess and sophomore Courtney Klow finished fourth and sixth in the 100 backstroke in 1:11.39 and 1:13.66, respectively. Klow also placed 10th in the 100 butterfly in 1:19.54.
Adams added a fifth-place finish in the 100 freestyle in 1:01.83.
Johnson joined senior Therese Youso, junior Abby Oveson and sophomore Kari Arnold to place seventh in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:19.
