International Falls’ girls swimming and diving team won all three relay races and recorded first-place finishes in seven of nine individual events to score a lopsided dual meet victory Thursday at Virginia, 73-29.

Broncos sophomore Breanna Shofner and senior Rachel Adams placed 1-2, respectively, in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Shofner finished the 50 in just under 27 seconds and also edged out Adams in the 100 with a time of just over a minute.

Shofner was also part of two winning relay teams.

She joined seniors Morgan Bruess, Ashley Hasbargen and Therese Youso to win the 200 medley relay in 2:08.9, more than 5 seconds ahead of another Falls relay team that placed runner-up.

Shofner and Adams teamed up with junior Abby Oveson and sophomore Blair Johnson to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:52.46.

Adams, Johnson and Oveson combined with sophomore Courtney Klow to win the 400 freestyle relay in 4:12.28.

Oveson and Klow placed 1-2 in the 200 individual medley in 2:42.35 and 2:43.17, respectively.

Klow also finished runner-up in the 100 backstroke to Bruess, who won that event in 1:13.44 and recorded another individual victory in the 500 freestyle in 6:28.31.

Hasbargen and seventh-grader Claire Herzig placed 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.21 and 1:25.35, respectively.
