Falls’ junior varsity girls swimming and diving team placed first in Tuesday’s triangular meet in Virginia.

The Broncos scored 276 points, followed by Eveleth-Gilbert (207) and Virginia (187).

The Falls had a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50 butterfly with Abby Auran placing first in 34.5 seconds, followed by Jessie Hell (35.03) and Megan Herrly (37.91).

Auran also placed second in the 200 freestyle in 2:36.78 with teammate Carolann Stone finishing third in 2:40.28.

Bronco divers finished 1-2 when Hell won the competition with 120.25 points, followed by Clara Wenger with 108.

The Falls had another individual first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke by Claire Herzig in 1:26.59. Teammate Emily Saari placed third in 1:30.55.

In the 50 freestyle, the Broncos’ Jenna Anderson placed second in 30.07, followed in third by teammate Kenzie Gunnerson in 30.45.

Falls’ Abby Kostiuk added a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:17.92.

In the relay races, Herzig, Anderson, Gunnerson and Jayde Hall placed first in the 200 medley relay in 2:18, while another Bronco relay team comprised of Hell, Saari, Kostiuk and Emma Misner came in third in 2:25.14.

Gunnerson, Auran, Hall and Anderson finished second in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:03.27, followed by the third-place Bronco team of Misner, Herzig, Anna Earley and Josie Bates in 2:09.27.

Auran, Gunnerson, Hall and Anderson added a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:38.9.
