The road to the Class A state volleyball tournament has only four instead of five matches for Littlefork-Big Falls.
That’s because the Vikings have received the top seed in their Subsection and will have an opening-round bye when Section 7A tournament action begins next week.
L-BF will host Wednesday’s second-round volleyball match at 7 p.m. against the winner of Monday’s match between No. 8 seed Hill City and No. 9 Nashwauk-Keewatin, two teams the Vikings have defeated this year.
Wednesday’s winner advances to play next Friday in Hibbing against the winner between No. 4 seed North Woods and No. 5 Chisholm.
The Section 7A semifinals will be held Nov. 2 at Duluth Denfeld High School. The Section championship match for the right to advance to the state tournament is set for Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. in Grand Rapids.
In Section 7AA, International Falls will open the tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hibbing.
