The season came to an end Friday night for the Littlefork-Big Falls volleyball team as the Vikings lost their Section 7A quarterfinal match at Hibbing to North Woods, 23-25, 18-25, 7-25.
The two teams had faced each other twice before this season with L-BF having won Sept. 22 in five games and North Woods winning both games Oct. 8 at the Bigfork tournament.
Vikings head coach Sarah Bradley said it was unfortunate the team on Friday didn’t play to the level that it is capable of playing.
L-BF, which had the Subsection's top seed, ends the season 20-6 overall. North Woods, seeded No. 4 in the Subsection, will play South Ridge at 7:30 p.m. today in the Section 7A semifinals at Duluth Denfeld High School.
Bradley, who was in her first year as the Vikings’ head coach, said the team played better as the season progressed, though it had some moments when the players were nervous and intimidated.
She said she appreciated the fan support the team received this season.
L-BF could potentially return almost its entire team next season with only one player being lost to graduation, senior setter Paige DeLack.
