L-BF girls hoops lose at home to LOW

Littlefork-Big Falls’ girls basketball team is entering the end-of the-year break 4-3 after losing at home Tuesday to Lake of the Woods, 53-42.

“We just didn’t play very well on defense,” said L-BF head coach John Larson.

The Vikings, who trailed 27-15 at halftime, were without Brooke Millerbernd for much of the game after she was hit in the eye about midway through the first half, but returned to action in the second half.

Larson said missing a lot of wide-open shots and free throws also hurt L-BF, which went 15-28 from the charity stripe.

He said the Vikings also ran into foul trouble with senior guard Paige DeLack ending up fouling out.

Abby Thompson led the Vikings in scoring with 16 points, while Millerbernd added 13.

Brittni Wellen led Lake of the Woods’ offense with 14 points.
