Two girls swimmers from International Falls High School have been named to the 2011 All-Iron Range Conference team.
Senior Morgan Bruess received All-Conference honors after winning the 100-yard backstroke in 1 minute, 9.5 seconds at the IRC meet hosted Oct. 15 by Mesabi East High School.
Sophomore Breanna Shofner has been named to the All-IRC team for her split times in two relay races, the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Shofner had a 29.9 split swimming the butterfly in the 200 medley relay, which the Broncos placed second in 2:04.99 when she was joined by Bruess and seniors Ashley Hasbargen and Rachel Adams.
Shofner had a leadoff split of 27.23 in the 200 freestyle relay when she teamed up with Bruess, Adams and sophomore Courtney Klow to place third in 1:51.53.
The All-IRC team, for which there are 21 swimmers and divers, includes the top two places in each individual event at the conference meet and the best four relay splits from those not already on the team.
