The Rainy River Community College women’s hockey team remained unbeaten after sweeping two road games last weekend against Minot State University.

On Saturday, the Voyageurs shut out the Beavers, 4-0.

RRCC freshman forward Janet Scherrer scored two goals, one unassisted. Carlee Bosma and Thea-Maria Sauca each added a goal.

Jenna Brady provided two assists, while Sauca, Lindsey Roehrig and Kaylynn McBurney-Flett each had an assist.

Sophomore goalie Katie Stearns recorded the shutout by stopping all 15 of Minot State’s shots on goal.

The Voyageurs won Sunday’s game, 3-1, with Scherrer, Bosma and Kristen Penner each recording a goal. Assists came from Brittany Johnson, Penner, Roehrig and Brady.

Freshman goalie Rachael Grotte stopped 25 of 26 shots on goal for a .962 save percentage.

RRCC, which is 4-0-1 for the season, plays again this coming Saturday and Sunday in a two-game road series against the University of Minnesota Duluth.
