Rainy River Community College’s volleyball team faced the top seed in Friday’s Region 13B tournament at Thief River Falls and lost to Northland in three straight games, 28-30, 20-25, 18-25.
Tiffany Schumacher led the Voyageurs with 15 kills and added 10 digs. Libero Kelly Sorensen had 16 digs, while Nikita Estling recorded 31 set assists.
RRCC’s season came to an end as a result of the loss. The Voyageurs ended the year 18-13 overall.
Northland defeated Itasca in Saturday’s Region 13B title match to advance to the NJCAA national tournament being held next week in Rochester.
