The Fort Frances Lakers announced this week that forward Jace Baldwin, a 2009 graduate of International Falls High School, has committed to Briercrest College to play for the Clippers hockey program.
Briercrest, which is based in Caronport, Saskatchewan, competes in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference.
This past season, the 21-year-old Baldwin was eighth in the Superior International Junior Hockey League in scoring with 55 points.
Of his 22 goals, 15 came via the power play, which were the third most in the league with his 33 total points while Fort Frances was on the man advantage leaving him knotted for the top spot in the SIJHL.
Baldwin had been named to the 2009 Associated Press All-State honorable mention team his senior season at FHS when he scored 13 goals and a team-high 25 assists in 27 games.
