Despite Tuesday’s gloomy weather, Falls’ VFW baseball team was able to complete both games of a home doubleheader with a pair of wins in five innings against Nashwauk-Keewatin, 19-1 and 7-1.

In game one, Gunnar Anderson hit a grand slam home run and tripled. Ben Humbert and Luke Spilde each added triples as part of Falls’ 10-hit attack.

Cole Miggins pitched the first three innings to pick up the victory as he allowed N-K’s only run and both hits, while also giving up a walk and striking out five.

Humbert pitched the final two innings in relief as he struck out five and allowed a walk.

In game two, Falls generated five hits as George Crow doubled for the team’s only multiple-base hit.

Jackson Vollom pitched three innings for the victory, giving up the run, both hits and a walk, while striking out five. Ryan Kilbride gave up four walks and struck out four pitching two innings in relief.

The weather didn’t cooperate Wednesday as Falls’ home doubleheader against Chisholm was postponed.
