MADISON, Wis. – St. Cloud State University goaltender Ryan Faragher, who turned in a series performance that included 67 saves and a first-ever team shutout of nationally-ranked league rival North Dakota on the road last weekend, has been honored as the Red Baron WCHA Rookie of the Week for Nov. 1.
Faragher, a 6-2, 205-pound freshman from Fort Frances, Ontario, registered a 44-save, 4-0 shutout over the Sioux last Friday in Grand Forks.
A late replacement for injured regular Mike Lee in the nets, Faragher, in his first WCHA start, tied a school record with 24 saves in the second period alone and helped the Husky penalty-kill go 7-of-7 in the contest.
