There is now an assigned fund balance in place for the purpose of receiving donations and processing expenditures for an athletic hall of fame being planned at International Falls High School.

The Falls School Board gave formal approval to setting up the account at its meeting Monday. The account will enable donors to make charitable contributions to the Bronco Hall of Fame project.

A group comprised of FHS athletic director Don Rolando, Bronco sports booster and math teacher Timm Ringhofer and a few others began meeting in April in an effort to turn the hall of fame idea into reality.

Group members are seeking to cover the hall of fame’s start-up costs, such as for plaques to honor the inductees and other expenses, through fund-raising.

A fund-raising letter as well as a form to nominate people for the hall of fame have been planned for two upcoming FHS alumni newsletters.

The details on determining who to induct in the hall of fame have yet to be finalized, though the group is planning on setting up a seven-member selection committee for that purpose.

The group has set its next meeting for Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the FHS cafeteria.
